Ashwagandha 'Stress-less' Bliss Balls
Here’s a scrummy remedy when you're feeling really stretched, stressed or run down....
Keep a batch of these in the fridge for an awesome pick-me-up which helps boost your stamina
for the day whilst CALMING & NOURISHING YOUR ADRENALS. Heavenly plant medicine!
Ingredients:
200g Nut butter (besides peanut butter which is generally too difficult to digest well)
1/3 cup Cranberries (I like to cut some in half)
2 Tab Chia seeds
2 Tab Honey or maple syrup
2 Tab Ashwagandha powder
1 tsp Cinnamon , a generous one
Enough shredded coconut or flakes to cover them, say 2/3 cup
Optional: 1 tsp cardamom because I love it and it's a great digestive aid.
Directions
Mix all the ingredients together.
Roll into balls the size you like and then roll in a bowl of shredded coconut or coconut flakes.
Eat one right away and pop the others in the fridge to firm up.
NOTES
Instead of buying nut butter I blitz a cup of almonds and add some ghee or coconut oil to bind.
Check at your local health or organic shop for Ashwagandha powder. If not available they might order it in for you. Also available from Ayu Ayurveda.
Keep in mind that your tummy doesn't like anything cold. It's logical really; the cold doesn't match the internal temperature, therefore it dampens our Agni ie. our digestive fire. We need to keep this 'fire' stoked to metabolise well and feel lighter. Try to get in the habit of taking your food and drinks out 20 mins before consuming. Your gut will be so much happier.
